UNDER The Kindah Tree Cowl (crochet)

What does your crochet mean to you? Why do you do it? For me, when I think about crocheting, I think of combining different ideas and colors, kindship, and community. And that’s what Under The Kindah Tree is for me. The Kindah Tree is the site of a historic treaty signing of the Maroon people (Jamaica) with Britain. This cowl is my interpretation bringing ideas, colors, and techniques.

Under the Kindah Tree is a simple cowl that starts as a triangle shawl with easy contrast color eyelets. Then, the simple shawl converts into a cowl that is fun to wear and finishes with a lace edge.

32 Market Street Tee (knit)

32 Market Street is a humble tee that packs a big punch. Using fingering weight yarn and a simple construction, with little effort you can create a stunning staple piece for your wardrobe.

The 32 Market Street is a celebration. With the year we’ve had in 2020 and traveling not an option, I created this tee in celebration of my heritage and the activism of Marcus Garvey.

While it might be some time before traveling is back to normal, take a trip to Jamaica with me as you knit.
