There's a reason the rectangle tie top (vintage sewing pattern) has been everywhere lately. It's stylish, flattering, surprisingly versatile…and now it's available as a knitting pattern!

I'm so excited to introduce the Petra Tied Top, my knitted interpretation of the viral sewing pattern that's been popping up all over social media.

Petra is designed to be approachable for knitters of every experience level. Beginning at the bottom front hem, you'll knit upward into a delicate lace bodice, work over the shoulders, and continue seamlessly down the back. There's no seaming involved, very little shaping, and the finishing is wonderfully simple. Once you've finished knitting, you'll add ties to the four bottom corners and your top is ready to wear.

One of my favorite things about Petra is how customizable it is.

Want a close-fitting, cropped top? Knit one or two sizes smaller than your chest measurement for negative ease.

Prefer something a little more relaxed? Knit your actual chest size or even size up for comfortable positive ease.

Because of the simple construction, Petra is incredibly forgiving and looks wonderful on many different body shapes and sizes.

You can also make it uniquely yours by knitting it in a single color for a classic look or combining two colors for a fun, modern twist.

Test Knitters Wanted!

I'm looking for knitters of all experience levels and all body sizes to help test the Petra Tied Top beginning in August.

You don't need previous test knitting experience. You don't need to be an expert garment knitter. I simply ask that you're excited to knit the pattern and willing to provide thoughtful feedback as we go.

The test knit will happen in three sections, making it easy to stay on track while also fitting around real life. If life gets busy, that's okay! The schedule is intentionally flexible.
